Its been a really long 12 weeks of 3rd semester this summer. But, it’s finally over and I am half way done with my undergraduate degree!
This summer has been such a crazy roller coaster. From days I just wanted to ball up in a corner and cry (which I did) from all the work to days I would not trade for the world!
Just imagine, being able to stand there and see a partial sternotomy that has been left open. Or, in other words, seeing a human heart beating in an absolutely conscious person. To see a person’s heart. To see a person looking at their own heart inside their body, pumping blood.. keeping them alive. To see others see what is keeping their loved one alive.
No words can come close to explaining that experience. Its moments like that, that keep me going. Mental health and critical care has got to be the two I struggled with the most. But, I think these two subjects are my two favorite. They weren’t lying when they said we would love and hate it at the same time.
One week of summer vacation and then time to tackle on the next three semesters!
